WOW WHAT A WEEK IN THE LORD
My Week in Review
This has been an amazing and exciting week. God has been overly good to me this week. I simply could not tell you everything that God has done for just me this week. the internet itself is not large enough to hold all of God’s blessings. I will attempt to limit to the highlights of God’s blessings in my life and then we will review our lesson.
Where to begin, that is the question. As many of you know, I was having to fight for my unemployment. I was fired from my job at a local drug and alcohol rehab because I gave an ex-client a ride to church. I was accused of dating this former client which is strictly against company policy. the facts are I did not date this person. (church would make an awesome date though) This went to trial last Wed. A company representative and a witness testified against me. I felt good about the outcome, however, I still had to leave it in God’s hands.
Saturday I was on the phone with my best friend the day the letter from the judge arrived. My friend told me to make sure I believed God had done this for me before I opened the letter.
“I believe.”
Letter is now opened.
I begin reading. First up is “Finding of Facts”. (What in the world is that?)
Enter the devil. I’m not sure why he always shows up but he does.
First sentence in the letter.
“A deputy has determined that the claimant has been disqualified from receiving of benefits due to claimants misconduct against company policy.”
Heart sinks slightly.
Continue reading then skimming. (This thing is 4 pages long)
I tell my friend that it appears I have lost. (Told you the devil entered.)
Friend says, “Cathy, I refuse to believe that”.
I give up reading and skimming in the middle of page 3 stating that God must not have said yes.
Friend continues refusal to believe.
Friend then says, “Cathy, you must call Monday morning to find out what you can do.”
I say, “OK”.
I enjoyed a fantastic Sunday in which all I could do was praise God for His wonderful grace and mercy in my life. God revealed the location of my dads car which had been missing for a year and a half. (That is a whole other story) Praise God, right? WOW! Car has been found. I ask caller excitedly, “Do you know Jesus, you have got to know my Jesus.”
Monday morning arrives after a blessed weekend. I almost forgot to call.
I call. Amazingly I spoke immediately with a real live person. WOW! That in itself is a miracle these days.
So real person asks for my SS# which I give. Person then asks if I have my letter from the judge.
I say, “yes”.
Person reads their computer and starts speaking.
“I see here where your checks have been released and you should be receiving them today or tomorrow.”
I say, “Hugh? I must not be reading the same letter you are.”
Person then tells me to read the “decision” part of the letter.
“Where is that I ask.”
I find this “decision” part at the bottom of page 3 just 5 lines after I had stopped reading.
Decision states in no uncertain terms that they had wrongfully fired me and that I would be receiving my unemployment.
Tuesday morning I received 7 unemployment checks in the mail.
Point of the story is: My friend maintained faith for me when I could not. he stood in the gap and believed at a time when the devil would have me defeated. With my friends faith intact I could listen to God’s Will and receive the blessing He had for me.
So Tuesday afternoon I get the chance to show God’s love when I run into the witness against me. I went up to her and gave her a big hug and told her thank you. Her mouth dropped to the floor and she confessed her concern that I would be angry. I had been witnessing to her before I was fired but I believe Tuesday was the greatest witness she had ever seen.
Now, as if God had not already done enough, Wednesday evening a person from my high school insisted on taking me to dinner after I helped them move. (Remember I was not liked in school)
Thursday I recieved 3 CD’s and a Color drawing from a young lady. ( valued at $46) More on this young lady and her amazing family come Testimony Tuesday.
Friday, my report on the news this week angered a person a bit too much. Read their comment and my answer.
Saturday I learned that I had WON an ESV Study Bible from another wonderful website which I follow on a regular basis. I had been wanting one since I first saw them but my finances have prevented me from any such purchases. Dr. Bruce has an amazing gift of breaking down issues in a way that is easy to comprehend even for those of us who are hard headed like me.
God has given me 2 opportunities to speak this weekend at 2 different churches.
The list goes on and on. Stay tuned to upcoming posts for more things that god gave me just this one week.
