World AIDS Day - 1st December
There will many places to get the statistics on AIDS/HIV today. This is World awareness day for AIDS. That is what the red ribbon is for. It is there to bring awareness to AIDS/HIV. Wear one today to show your support for their struggle. I am not going to be discussing the statistics here. I want to talk to you about something so much more important in conjunction with AIDS/HIV. I’m sure that you have guessed by now that I want to talk about acceptance and love for those who have contracted this deadly disease.
Many are under the misconception that if you touch someone with AIDS/HIV that you will contract this disease yourself. That is not true and such misconseptions leave a lot of people lost and lonely. It is my hope by telling you the truth that you will reach out with the love of Christ to these suffering individuals. They need to know about the love that God has for them now more than ever.
In Ezekiel we are called to be watchman and God holds us responsible for telling others the truth. If we do not then their blood is on our head. I do not want to have anyones blood on my head, do you? By sharing the love that God has given you and reaching out to those aflicted with AIDS/HIV you are releasing yourself from their blood.
This disease has touched almost every family in America in some way or another. If it is not in your direct family then you probably know someone who has it. How do you become infected with AIDS/HIV? There really are only a very few ways to contract this deadly disease. Unprotected sex is a primary way. If someone who has AIDS/HIV is bleeding and you are bleeding and your blood mixes with their blood then you may contract the disease. That sure is a lot of if’s. Addicts are prone to catching AIDS/HIV if they share needles. There is also blood transfusion from an infected person as well as a mother passing the disease to her unborn child. For the most part that is it. You can NOT contract AIDS/HIV by hugging someone with the disease.
Hug away because every person on earth could use a hug to brighten their day and demonstrate the love of Christ. although God does not approve of a lot of the things that led up to contracting this disease he still loves these people just as much as He loves you and me. God is no respector of persons so why are you and I?
Help spread the awareness of this disease to others through your support today by wearing a red ribbon on World AIDS day, December 1.
Now to clear up a bit of confusion that was pointed out form my last article. I sincerely apologize if any one else was confused. I do not celebrate Christmas as others do. I do think that Christmas is a Holy day. I think Black Friday is a scam thought up to get you to spend more money and therefore I do not approve. I understand that businesses need sales to stay in business but I belive that Christmas as a whole has been comersialized with Black Friday just being an example. I in no way intended to mislead anyone and have reworded the offending sentanse in the post. Thank you to a kind reader for pointing that out so gently.

Great post Cathy.
