OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN

Published by cathycouey at 7:44 am under Prayer Edit This

(Matthew 6:9 KJVR)  After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

(2Chronicles 7:13-15 KJVR)  If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

God is speaking to us.  He wants us to talk to Him.  We are “One Nation Under God” or are we?  It would seem we have forgotten where we came from and how God brought us from affliction into a promised land filled with milk and honey.  “The Land Of The Free.”  What happened?  I know that our constitution guarantees us certain freedoms.  I believe that if the “founding Fathers” could see what we have done with those freedoms they would be appalled.  Are all men created equal or do we discriminate based on race and creed.  How about the discrimination that takes place in our churches.  Christ died that we would be one body yet we are not one body.  There are countless denominations in the body.  Our own body could not function under these circumstances.  Neither can the “body of Christ”.  We must come together as “one body” and “one nation”.  “United we stand, divided we fall”.  Whoever is elected we have the duty to honor and respect the one in authority over us.  We need to pray before the election.

(Matthew 6:10 KJVR)  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.  When we pray as god is asking us to then we must believe that His will is done and act accordingly.

(Romans 13:1-2 KJVR)  Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.  Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.  (1Peter 2:13-17 KJVR)  Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.  For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:  As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.  Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

This says we are honor the king that is our president and that we are to honor all men that includes those you do not agree with.  You do not have to agree with someone in order to respect them.  It also says to love the brotherhood.  Who is the brotherhood?  That is where we will pick up in our Bible study tomorrow unless God says otherwise.  This is His site and I will subject to His leading.

For today just pray for the will of the Father to be done on earth just as it is in heaven.

Now, more then ever I think we need to be praying and searching the scriptures for answers to what God requires of our nation.

We need to be united in the church body. Difficult, but it can be done. Love one another!!!
