After the events of today it would seem that it was more like bleak Friday as opposed to “Black Friday”. What has become of people? Today on “black Friday”, the beginning of the Christmas holiday three people were killed in two different popular stores. This happened on either side of the US as shoppers stormed the stores to purchase their Christmas gifts. On the East Coast a temporary employee was trampled to death. On the West Coast two men shot and killed each other in Toys R Us as their women argued and punched one another. What has Christmas come to?
People ask me all the time why I do not celebrate the Christmas as a Holy holiday. I do not see that the actions of people toward Christmas are so Holy and I refuse to take part in this kind of chaos. How does participating in this kind of thing tell others the love of Christ? If I choose to give a gift to someone I want it to be from my heart not my wallet.
I pray that none of you guys were involved in anything so unrighteous today or any day. No one really wants a gift that needlessly cost a human life to obtain. such a waste. Christ gave His life as a gift to us. Isn’t that enough? Black Friday is a term that discribes a time for stores to make money. Does that mean that Christmas shopping is for the stores to make money and people to lose their lives. some how that just not line up with what I thought Christmas was all about. therefore I will not celebrate this year.

Have you ever worked really hard on a project and when you were finished you were so proud of it? Then you discover that someone thinks it really stinks and belittles your efforts. How do you feel when you make that discovery? Are you angry, hurt, indifferent? Do you blow it off or retaliate with something hurtful toward that person or worse someone else? Or are you one of those few who has complete control over your emotions and can truly forgive the person who said the hurtful things without batting an eye over the situation? (more…)

Well for lack of a better title that is exactly what I have been doing today. I had a major project that I really have been wanting to do. That is exactly what I decided to do today. Two things came from that. My project is complete . The other thing is that you do not have to hear me be so long winded.
Today I just wanted to relax. I am only writing tonight because I joined a special thing called NaBloPoMo where we must post to our blog everyday this month. Maybe I will win a prize or something. At least I will learn to keep comitments. You know God has not yelled at me for not doing an in depth study today. He is not mad because I did a fun project instead. Truth be told it turned out real well. Go check it out and tell me what you think.
Now you know that tomorrow we will be getting back to our Freedom series. Tonight just relax and love someone. Have a good night and God bless you richly.

A lightning bolt hit me this morning while I was meditating on the freedom in Christ that we have. OK maybe not literally but almost. When we first became Christians and I mean truly became Christians life was so simple. Do you remember? We truly felt the release that came with knowing Christ. We could not wait to tell the world what had just happened. Life was so simple and we were on top of the world relishing in our new found freedom in Christ. Oh, for the good old days when we lived the simple life of freedom in Christ and things were not complicated. (more…)

BOOK BY STEVE BROWN
Before we begin I must make a very important announcement. If you are not a Christian then this message is not for you. I’m sorry but it is just not. Once you are a Christian it most defiantly applies.
We are free in Christ. What does the word freedom really mean? What does that freedom mean to me in my Christian walk? How do we get that real freedom promised by Christ? Oh my, and the list goes on and on and on. As I said yesterday I am working on a study that will revolutionize my walk with the Lord. (more…)

Today I will give a a little start concerning conviction verses condemnation. Well, because NaBloPoMo is almost over I simply could not skip writing today. I am so sorry that it is not going to be as long as usual. To tell you the truth I am in the middle of a very serious study and am hoping to be able to get it to you soon. Right now I will touch briefly in what got me started on this deep study. I have had trouble for a long time with condemnation. I know that the word of God says that there is now therefore no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus. (more…)

THE BOOK “THE MIND OF CHRIST”
We really need to understand the Mind of Christ as described in Philippians 2:5-8. One of the key words in this passage is the very small word: “LET”. What does this little word have to do with developing the Mind of Christ? EVERYTHING! (more…)

SAMSON and DELILAH
Have you read the story of Samson and Delilah? Do you realize that he gave his secret strength away to the enemy without a fight? In the story, God gave Samson unbelievable strength and then He gave Samson the secret to keeping that strength. The secret to Samson’s strength was in his hair. As long as he never cut his hair he would maintain his strength. This sounds simple enough doesn’t it? The problem was that Samson could not keep his mouth shut. (more…)

When we left off yesterday, Saul was sitting in Damascus waiting for the Lord Jesus to send someone to restore his site. He was deep in meditation and prayer as we find out from our Bible verse for today. It seems that Saul is in the middle of his conversion. He knows he is a sinner.
In drivers education we learn how to turn around in the middle (more…)

I am so excited about Saul and his conversion on the road to Damascus. Many of you are probably wondering why I continue to call him Saul so I will tell you the answer. All you had to do was ask. See Paul did not receive his name change until Acts 13 so at this point he is still Saul. Please note that his change of name occurred once he began his ministry. We will talk more about that at a later date. for now let’s go back to where we left Saul yesterday. He had been blinded by the light of Jesus and was being led on into Damascus. (more…)
